Just in time for Halloween, Belleyre Books has added “Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters” to its bookshelves. This book presents a new twist on an old classic by expanding the text to include savage creatures and dark secrets. Not for everyone, this book may offend the purist, but those ready for a quirky classic will find a great read in “Sea Monsters.”
Not the product of just any publishing house, “Sea Monsters” comes from the appropriately named Quirk Books, located in the Old City section of Philadelphia. Quirk’s mission for their Quirk Classics series is “to enhance classic novels with pop culture phenomena.” They seem to be succeeding. Making the best seller list is “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.”
